Bronwyn Williams-Ellis is an artist and highly skilled independent designer craftswoman, a ceramist since 1973, she has for 20+ years specialised in designing and making ceramic tiles to commission. Bronwyn's expertise and artistic ability enables her to offer you your own original and striking tile projects.
Her tilework can be found in most books on contemporary tiles.

Each design for ceramic wall tiles is unique; with the emphasis on good drawing and composition, from a small tile panel to a complete room of tiles to suit the customer and enhance the particular interior. She enjoys working with the client to produce bold and original designs, covering a broad range of subjects, figurative and abstract, contemporary and traditional / historic.
The tiles range from luminous vibrant colours to quieter tones and classic blue and whites.
Bronwyn's reintroduction of the Arabic technique cuerda seca [dry line], in conjunction with her own wide range of glazes and colours enhances her distinctive drawing style.

Bathroom tiles, kitchen tiles, swimming pool surrounds. Jacuzzi surrounds, wet room tiles, splash backs, dado tiles, shower tiles, border tiles, are all possible.
Most subject matter can be considered.

The process, or how to do it:-

1 Discussion about what you want - subject, scale, colour, technique, prices, price range.

2 Accurate measurements + clear photographs will need to be taken of the specific walls / room to be tiled and of all hazards such as pipes, taps, sockets and switches.
Best done when all porcelain fittings, cupboards, electrics are fitted - things tend to move. The tile area is every other trade's waste space and will need defending against invaders!

3 Glaze colours are then chosen.
Compatible and complementary glaze colours can usually be produced to match the room and fittings, [an exact match is not guaranteed since ceramic colours have complex chemistry, and cannot be mixed like paint].
It is helpful if the client can provide any colour samples of paint, curtains, carpet, counter tops, bath, stoves, etc. for colour matching.
Everything is carefully weighed out, but colour will still vary from batch to batch so please order for your full needs in one go!

4 When all the important information has arrived Bronwyn will work on scale drawings of the tile panels and estimates for you to look at and discuss.

5 After agreement, the decorated tile panels are drawn out full size. The tiles are made and / or decorated and finally fired.
Each panel is supplied with a numbered tile plan.

6 Each commission is designed and made in strict rotation.
With the client's help it can usually be produced promptly and efficiently.

7 All too much, its easy - Just ring Bronwyn and she will help.
